Chicagoland

The trip to Chicago was an adventure to say the least.  After jumping through a few unexpected hoops, an emergency trip to Madison and an extra bus ticket I finally made it to Chicago on Tuesday evening.  My great friend Robin who lives in Arlington Heights was kind enough to let us crash at her apartment so Cassondra and I took the train into the city each morning.

Our appointment with the Consulate General of Spain was at 10:00 am on Wednesday morning.
We took a LONG walk to get there from Union Station and had wrapped all our paperwork up by 10:30 am.  Since all our paperwork has been submitted, we now just wait up to 4 weeks for our visa to come in the mail (fingers crossed!)

Since we had the entire rest of the day to ourselves we spent the rest of the day exploring downtown Chicago.  It was Cassondra's first visit to Chicago and we hit all the hot spots!
The Bean, with the skyline in the background!

Millenium Park - We caught a concert here for a nice mid-morning break.

Walking along the Lake with the city behind us!

Made a quick stop at Navy Pier in search of some Chicago Style pizza!

Which we found at Giordano's!
