Visa - Plane Ticket

It has arrived!

When I had visited the Chicago consulate they told me it could take up to 4-5 weeks for my visa to be processed. Well 15 days later it is here!

Now that I have my visa, I can now purchase my plane ticket to Spain. I wanted to wait until I had my visa in hand until I did this because I didn't want to purchase a ticket too early and cause myself any complications.

After some airline research and looking around the internet, Cassondra and I decided to book a flight through Iberia, which is a Spanish airline. They are granting me one date change on my flights for free.

Grand total $1,096.99

Here is my itinerary for my trip to Spain.

Sept. 20 - 11:30am Minneapolis - 12:55pm Chicago

4:40pm Chicago - Sept. 21 7:40am Madrid

12:00pm Madrid - 1:10 Vigo

Chicagoland

The trip to Chicago was an adventure to say the least. After jumping through a few unexpected hoops, an emergency trip to Madison and an extra bus ticket I finally made it to Chicago on Tuesday evening. My great friend Robin who lives in Arlington Heights was kind enough to let us crash at her apartment so Cassondra and I took the train into the city each morning.

Our appointment with the Consulate General of Spain was at 10:00 am on Wednesday morning.

We took a LONG walk to get there from Union Station and had wrapped all our paperwork up by 10:30 am. Since all our paperwork has been submitted, we now just wait up to 4 weeks for our visa to come in the mail (fingers crossed!)

Since we had the entire rest of the day to ourselves we spent the rest of the day exploring downtown Chicago. It was Cassondra's first visit to Chicago and we hit all the hot spots!
